Run your code to check it. The checks replay a fixed script on a virtual clock, so the same code always gets the same result.
Each fault really happens in the simulation. Trigger one, watch the figure, then read why.

Before any wiring, get to know the board: where power comes in, which pins do what, and the little L LED on pin 13 that your first sketch will light.
| Pin | Connects to | What it does |
|---|---|---|
D0-D13 | Digital pins | HIGH (5 V) or LOW (0 V), in or out. The ~ ones can also do PWM. |
A0-A5 | Analog inputs | analogRead() turns 0-5 V into 0-1023. |
5V-3V3 | Power out | 5 V and 3.3 V for sensors and modules. |
GND | Ground | The 0 V every circuit returns to. All the GND pins are joined. |
VIN | Supply in | 7-12 V in, or the jack's voltage out. |
RESET | Reset | Pull it LOW to restart the sketch. |
